- Keep your devices updated. ‘Older’ software can have many security vulnerabilities, even if you updated it a week ago.
- Train your employees to not click on suspicious links. Banks are common victims of phishing attacks, and even the best email filters struggle to catch every spam email.
- Assign ‘roles’ to limit what employees can view. Ideally, employees can only work with what they need to in order to do their job. The less places data exists, the harder it is to steal it.
- Use trusted vendors that allow you to review their security practices. Since vendors have access to your sensitive information, cyber attackers can steal it from them as well.
